Sea Dawgs and Crossover Join TRBL

The Cary Invasion, the Wilmington Sea Dawgs, and the Fayetteville Crossover have announced their intentions to become members of the new Tobacco Road Basketball League (TRBL). The TRBL anticipates 5 to 10 teams playing during the league's inaugural season, including teams from Fayetteville, Cary, Wilmington, and the Charlotte area.
The league will begin play in April 2012 as a point series and will compete with a larger network of independent minor league teams in a national championship tournament at the conclusion of the Spring season. Details regarding the national tournament and league associations will be announced in the coming weeks.
We are convinced that this approach, that is maintaining a regional focus and creating partnerships with other regional leagues, is good for minor league basketball. It allows better quality control, minimizes travel costs, promotes economies of scale, and provides a framework upon which we can play for a national championship.
Sea Dawgs Owner, Pete Gratale
The Sea Dawgs have been a perennial minor league contender for the last 5 seasons. The team's accomplishment's include an American Basketball Association (ABA) semi-final appearance in 2006, two Premier Basketball League (PBL) playoff appearances, and a CBL regular season championship in 2010.
ScoreTrax.com will provide score broadcasting services for all TRBL games and technology services for all TRBL teams.
